Agbo Jedi

The Agbo Jedi mix, commonly referred to by its full name Agbo Jedi-Jedi, is perhaps the most well-known traditional herbal remedy (Agbo) used across Southwestern Nigeria. In Yoruba, "Jedi-Jedi" typically refers to symptoms related to dysentery, chronic constipation, and hemorrhoids (piles).

This specific blend is a robust assortment of raw, potent roots, barks, and seeds, traditionally prepared as a decoction (boiled infusion). It is primarily sought after for its believed properties as a:

• Digestive Cleanser: Used to treat stomach aches, discomfort, and symptoms of chronic constipation.

• Body Detoxifier: Often consumed for "blood cleansing" and regulating the body's system, helping to alleviate general body aches (Agbo Ara Riro).

• Piles Remedy: Its traditional use is highly focused on managing the discomfort and symptoms associated with piles/haemorrhoids.
